「兩週一聚: 禮物」之【前人種果後人收】 / 「Bi-weekly Series: Gift 」【For the Next Generation 】

Root is where I came from.

Space 兄:

The university was not on a semester system and I had to work part-time to stay afloat. So the $1,100 was the money made available to me, but not the actual cost.

ps: All my summer jobs were outside of Edmonton.

CM: This is what one would expect flying refugee class:

* A fly-by-night company would purchase an old plane, took all the good seats out, gut the inside, cramp in as many smaller seats as possible into the plane, and register the hunk of junk as a "charter flight".
* The pilots and workers are likely not unionized, and don't expect cheerful, young, stewardesses serving you French wine with your meals.
* Because it is a low priority flight (lacking the clout of big international airlines), there will be many delays and unscheduled stops. I remember my flight stopped over at Guam at 3 o'clock in the morning, either for a repair or a refill. Amazingly, the souvenir shop of that small island airport was actually open for business.
* For charter flight, you have to pay your ticket up-front and ahead of time. Be prepared to kiss your saving (and not your love ones) good-bye at the airport if the fly-by-night company goes belly-up before your plane can take off !!!
