窗外的橫風橫雪終於緩慢了下來,雖然飄雪仍在冷空氣中飛舞,但沒有風寒指數wind chill factor,出面零下十五度的天氣還不太差。我戴上帽子和手套,穿上了大褸和雪靴,一踏出門外,身体就半沈沒在屋外的積雪中,想不想這個秋末從美國Texas「德克薩斯」州上來的大風雪,竟帶來了這么多煩惱。我原本是打算駕車出外逛逛,欣賞夜靜的雪景,但看看埋在深雪中的汽車,也就打消了這個念頭。回到屋內,順手拈了本加拿大小說家 Margaret Atwood 「瑪格麗特‧愛特伍」作的 "Life Before Man",躲入溫暖的被窩,靜靜等待風雪夜後黎明的降臨。

As overwhelming the snow seems, unbearable loving-pains or troubles will eventually melt away.
BTW, more like moaning than grining, my moths died.
新鮮人: 第二天早上,費了几近三小時,鏟 driveway 的積雪!!
Xiao Zhu: 頭痛事小,堆雪又多又重,很多人鏟雪時傷了腰背,手尾長矣!!
Keith: I like your optimism. As for the moths, the moaning and groaning could be complaints abt house chores.
我想問下，其實這情形會否弄壞架車呢？
孱仔: 前數天降的雪是很乾和輕dry and fluffy snow,但如果落像是1998年的冰雨freezing rain/snow/ice,或冰雹hail,那就有問題了。
So how is life before man? I mean the book, not your experience. :-)
Keith: 如果真的是問我個人經驗,我也不知道怎樣回答,因為 Margaret Atwood 瑪格麗特‧愛特伍也是很幽默地用了"man"作為相關語 (double-entendre), 因為"man"一字可以作「男人」解,也可作「人類」解也。
It is a really good book that was written in 1979, way before she has become internationally famous.

上年沒有雪,一點聖誕氣氛也沒有。今年可不同了, 24小時內落了近40 cm 雪。豐雪是好兆,但您說得沒錯,揸車要小心。Wish you the best !!!
微豆 Haricot... I am away far away from 4 season countries...sigh. How I wish I can wait - wait to see, feel - when the sky is clear beyond the vanishing snow giving rise to the sweet scent of spring with all the greens ... Beautiful warm summer with roses bloom... Then with colorful fall that maples awaiting to fall...foggy nights and winter visits with frost and snow...When do I gotta see, smell, feel and touch 4 seasons again, I don't know.
