Are you back yet? You have gone long enough to cook up a storm. What did you make?
Merry Christmas to you too!
haha..Keith, he can even cook a hurricane already!!!
Merry Xmas to u and happy new year Keith
微豆 Haricot,
u wrote: It's ironic (to me anyway) that you wrote on Aug 27th about "生命的脆弱 Life is so fragile", as if you were prescient.
No, I am not prescient - the baby boy and the young gal I wrote both are my niece and nephew.
may be more than a storm or a hurricane here...
let's be patient and see what he can share with us then. hahaha...
Keith: After "cooking up a storm" along with a glass of Champaign and some good time (and not necessarily in that order), I am now back !!!
Without disclosing my "secret" recipe, here is a list of food on the table on Christmas day: A bottle of Champaign; one oven-baked stuffed turkey complete with gravy and cranberry sauce; mashed rutabaga; a glass of Champaign; mashed potato with herbs; light fried Brussels sprouts with fresh garlic; more Champaign; steamed pudding with Christmas sauce; freshly brewed coffee; chocolate coated cookies; another sip of Champaign mixed with fresh orange juice this time ... You get the picture :)
啤酒花™_J : Ha, very funny !!
啤酒花™_J : I now understand.
Hyacinthus : Christmas dinner has to be the most important meal of the year on this side of the pond. For your interest, I am sharing the menu - see response to Keith above (eat your heart out, so to speak ^_^ )
Wow, you can cook all that and you would curl up in bed read Margaret Atwood...you are quite a guy...probably one in a million.
I always believe things like books, movies, or arts are acquired taste. I recently visited Broolyn museum to see a speical feminist artists' exhibit. I can feel the powerful conviction of its arts, but I won't say I will hang one of their paintings in my living room. Atwood is one of the most famous living Canadian writers. Who knows, I probably will pick up one of her books out of curiosity. I read a Danielle Steel story long time ago.
me wanna have the Xmas mail too...Gimme...Gimme..sharing is caring my dear!
opss it meal...haha not mail!!!
wow Christmas Dinner ah ... i havent got a chance to prepare a turkey before ... haha i got no oven at home so can't cook a turkey!
Keith: If you think the standard has been raised, I hate to disappoint you. I had not cooked ALL that were on the table. If I said I did, then perhaps the Champaign had gotten into my head @_@.
When I read Margaret Atwood, I actually do not assume the writing is going to be from a feminist's perspective. Perhaps as blogger, I also want my writing to be judged by the strength of my words, and not by my gender, age, or other personal attributes. Come to think of it, that will be a good topic for me to further explore/expand in my blog !!
啤酒花™_J: Did you have too much Champaign to drink as well? (Just kidding !!)
啤酒花™_J: While I could not share the meal, I can sure share a tale :)
Eden: Without an oven, it is definitely more difficult to cook a "traditional" Christmas turkey. But, that's not to say you cannot roast it (as long as you sew up the bird so the stuffing won't spill out).
Roast it ? where? on the stove fire and roast the turkey over it? hee .. hmmmmm
Eden: Ah, what I meant was to roast the turkey on the grill of a BBQ.
