Have you been to the High Peak Region of New York State？I used to do a lot of hiking, skiing and rock-climbing in that area. My favorite mountains include: Giant, Marcy and Gothics. If you have not been to the Adirondacks, I would suggest you go with experienced hikers who know the trails.

Yes, it is a quiet and beautiful part of the Lipari Island where human footprints can be traced back to 4000 BC.
we recently only do hiking in the area, as this is our first year together in VT. thanks for suggestion and maybe we will do that next year!!
and we aren't that hard core as you!!
Nice really. Btw, don’t miss those good trails in Ireland in your coming trip. Her coastline is pretty too and brings us few snapshots then. =)

There is a change of travel plan and my destination will be in another part of the world. Nevertheless, the UK and Ireland are still high on my list of places to go visit and I still have the valuable info you sent me.

It's just life. Life ya. I luv the third photo posted. I luv the cactus too. Cactus is such a lovely plant, right? with radiates spines, live in dry region, yet they live beautifully.

Most of these are volcanic islands. Some of the volcanoes in the region has been active for thousand of years and there have been big eruptions from time to time (think Pompeii).

Yeah, I was surprised to find cacti there. They sure are thriving well under the hot sun and in the hostile environment !!!
