上回說道我上網找尋最「人道」的方法去煮食那隻叫「獨臂」的龍蝦,有人会問,為一隻龍蝦勞師動眾,作什?
各位看官,須知我們在西方城市長大或居住多年軟心腸的人(bleeding hearts),大都已「放下屠刀,立地成佛」,吃的都是超級市場買來的包裝食品, 可以詐作不知肉類是從屠房動物而來。這和加拿大總督Michaëlle Jean 莊美楷五月廿五日在北極吃生珍海錯,freshly killed seal heart 的情形大有分別!! 我們城市人,不知者不罪嘛!! (Say this with an innocent look and a shrug)
如我記憶不錯,上一次殺生(昆蟲丶冷血動物除外)是在中學時代,父親在厨房交給我一把鋒利的菜刀,叫我宰殺那双腳被縛,撲翼掙扎的生雞,刎割雞喉之後要放血入碗(勿忘加鹽),之後燒開水,脫鷄毛..., 血淋淋的事實。
所以我送了「獨臂」上龍蝦西天後,也沒有什么心情吃晚飯,搖了個电話請老媽子週末來吃龍蝦歺,洗淨碗碟,餓著肚子上床睡覺。

我細個都見過大人割雞,
剧雞頸、放血、浸熱水、剥毛,
仲要見隻雞死唔斷氣係度腳撐撐,
睇見都唔舒服,
不過後來隻雞上枱時,
我覺得幾好味喎!
係未好衰咁呀?

從小就不是吃素的,要殺生吃肉,習慣成自然,都沒法了。我喜欢BBQ牛扒,可幸不需親手屠牛。

You've done a great job in translating the quote from Einstein, which is most appropriate for this article re my encounter with a lobster.
However, I have just one little suggestion regarding 人性伽鎖:
I think ".... restricting us to our personal desires" should be translated as "..... 讓我們被個人的私慾限制著"
