鄰里冰球比賽 / Neighbourhood Hockey Game

This is where most neighbourhood kids in Ottawa learn to play hockey - on a patch of ice in the local park with their friends.

Some will graduate into playing for the minor leagues in community arenas, and only a few will end up with the National Hockey League (NHL) earning big money and fame across North America.

But this is where a kid's dream starts !!!

I have watched a few NHL games before on canadian tv Sportnet or TSN. All ending up the players exchanging punches or tackling with the hockey sticks and then bleeding from the nose and the mouth.

Each game there was/ were designated players from both teams to entertain the audiences with a round or two of boxing on the ice.

I believe the boys start learning that rule from the local parks and community arenas with their friends and opponents TOO.

Space: In response to your comments, I have written another blog article on fighting violence in ice-hockey. Enjoy :)
