戀與愛 / Falling in Love

In the movie Captain Corelli's Mandolin (Nicolas Cage and Penelope Cruz, 2001), there is a scene in which the old woman was telling the main character: "Falling in love is not love, the long journey after is." Don't you think there is certain truth to that?

Once read this: Falling in love is easy. Falliing out of love is when love begins.

Hi Ruth:

愛之深,恨之切. How many people can stop themselves from flipping to the other side of love that is hate. I don't know whether you saw Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner's "The War of the Roses" (1989). I think in the end, that was what happened, although their realization of "when love begins again" came a bit too late :(

BTW, I hope you are enjoying your vacation :)

"Falling in love is easy. Falling out of love is when love begins." The author's meaning is that: it's easy to fall in love because he/she is good looking, famous, ... However, after some time, such feeling will fade and we fall out of love. It's then true love begins because we love each other no longer because of the superficial elements.
