平時不燒香 臨急抱佛腳 / Embracing Buddha's Feet & Begging for Mercy

旅遊泰國一寺廟的時候,看到這位先生在金佛腳下喃喃自語,不禁想起年幼時惰性重,每逢考試前夕大起恐慌,要開通宵讀書,老父見到就搖頭嘆息說:


平時不燒香
臨急抱佛腳

那時我血氣方剛,還冲着回答道:『有時間壓力,才有最高效率!』其實我当年只是「死雞撐飯蓋」,自欺欺人罷!!

老父!! 希望我這個教而不善的兒子,沒有令您失望啊!!!

臨急抱佛腳 譯作：Embracing Buddha's Feet & Begging for Mercy 沒有 平時不燒香，少了危急的意思。

但若把死雞撐飯蓋直譯成英文就忽略原意了！

是真實的感覺,
如果小孩子一切都循規蹈矩，
