Python / Boa - IMG00076

Here is another snake photo. This is a brown python, a species that is not native to Canada. It's a kind of boa restricter that kills its prey by squeezing and suffocating its victim to death. This reptile is not thick, abt the size of my arm. When I was travelling in South Africa, a snake guy put one on me that must weigh over 20 kg. Its mid-girth was bigger than my thigh and a few wraps of its metres long body would easily have killed me, slowly. Like all snakes, pythons swallow its prey whole without chewing !!!

BTW, the photo I posted earlier today is a greentree python which of course is not poisonous, just a squeezer.
