在初春積雪還未溶之前,我在郊區越野滑雪(图一),和這隻小貂鼠在溪澗处相遇(图二),它正在啃一條冰了的魚,可能是冬天餓透了,又或是要趕回家餵奶給春生嬰孩,它看見我也不躲避,就只睜眼望著我,繼續吃它的午歺。
我想如果是在70年代以前,這野貂鼠的性命就難保了,可能一早就已被獵人殺死,製成「皮草」,繞在某上流女人的肩頸上。幸好社会價值覌轉變,環保運動保護野生動物,小貂鼠和它在北美的一族(图三),能夠在山野中過無憂無慮的生活。
野貂的壽命平均只約三年,以前人說:『人死留名,豹死留皮。』我对小貂鼠說:『我就替妳留張相在網誌上,讓世界的人都認識妳罷!』

新鮮人: 環保運動之前,城市開荒發展,人口工業染污,再加上好多人喜吃「山珍海錯」(例如:煲貓頭鷹食可以補眼云云),野生動物是被趕盡殺絕了:(
