Golden Oldies: The Doors "Light My Fire" by Jim Morrison et al

This is an amazing song by The Doors !!! Like Janis Joplin and some others rockers of that by-gone era, the lead singer Jim Morrison (shown in video) also died young.

I have picked from YouTube two versions, the top one has good stero sound, and the bottom, live shot of the band in Europe. I have also posted the lyrics below.

Enjoy !!!

Lyrics:

You know that it would be untrue
You know that I would be a liar
If I was to say to you
Girl, we couldn't get much higher

Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire

The time to hesitate is through
No time to wallow in the mire
Try now we can only lose
And our love become a funeral pyre

Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire, yeah

The time to hesitate is through
No time to wallow in the mire
Try now we can only lose
And our love become a funeral pyre

Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire, yeah

You know that it would be untrue
You know that I would be a liar
If I was to say to you
Girl, we couldn't get much higher

Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire
Try to set the night on fire
Try to set the night on fire
Try to set the night on fire

The video below was recorded live in Europe. This version of "Light My Fire" is slightly different than the one above.

According to Eagle Rock TV, http://www.eagle-rock.com/artist/A848:

"... The Doors were founded by Ray Manzarek and Jim Morrison in Los Angeles in 1965. They released their eponymous debut album, which contained their hit single Light My Fire, in 1967 and went on to be one of the most controversial and influential rock acts of the sixties. Jim Morrison's early death in Paris in 1971 only served to fuel their legend and both he and the band have continued to enjoy iconic status for more than thirty years. This incredible performance of Light My Fire is from the Eagle Vision DVD "Live in Europe" ....."
