The photos below were taken around the West Hill House Bed and Breakfast place, the Sugar Bush Ski Resort, and also on top of the ski lifts at Mad River Glen.
#1: The famous "single" chair lift that goes to the top of Stark's Nest at Mad River Glen (MRG).
#2: Going, going.....
#3: .... Gone !!!
#4: The picture below shows the black-diamond (difficult) run next to the chair lift. Tree-huggers can ski in the glades on the right of the lone dead tree.
#5: One of my favourite black-diamond run - "Catamount Bowl". Love the powder moguls !!
#6: On top of the "Warming Hut" at Mad River Glen, looking toward Lake Champlain and further north, Canada. The evergreen trees were completely covered with powder snow !!
#7: Snowshoeing in the golf course, near the West Hill House Bed and Breakfast place.
#8: On my cross-country skis, looking at the Sugar Bush Ski Resort where I tried snowboarding, for very the first time.
#9: At the top of the hill, looking at my "herring bone" marks in the deep snow.

風景真係好靚,
尤其是些樹掛,
白色一片片的掛在樹上,
又美又好看,
真係如雪國一樣!
Love the pic that evergreen trees were covered with powder snow. Seems that you have a great vacation break as well a nice start of 2008, right? Thanks for sharing here.
There is nothing like standing at the top of hill breathing the crisp mountain air. One's senses seem sharpened since snow simplifies the world to distinctive grey and white and the mountain silence contrasts even the slight chirpings from the birds. Then comes the commitment of going down the hill; the feel of acceleration and the wind on the face are most exhilarating. Seeing your photos make me feel like I were there...but I was skiing at Pocono Mountains during the holidays.
新鮮人: 以前做孩子的時候,在香港看明信片,就常覺得那白茫茫的雪景,好像是童話裏的雪糕世界,那掛在樹上的,就不真是似vanilla ice-cream 嗎?
Hyacinthus: It was a nice vacation to start my break from office work :)
Keith: I was hiking in the Poconos (is it still where the honeymooners go?), a few years back and quite enjoyed my time there. You are right, standing on top a snow capped mountain enjoying what nature has to offer really takes us away from the city, the traffic and other complications in life. For skiers, the downhill part is the reward/bonus. I will be going on a ski trip soon, Keith. So, stay tuned for more skiing news!!!
